Well said. Just think of this flower drive as a way to display our collective might to the media. What really shocks me is that most of us are tech savvy and yet we don't even see too many blog posts on this issue by the community of skilled, legal non-immigrants.
We need to be more vocal, and sending flowers is just another way of expressing our thoughts.
This is true, I assume that everyone here has also participated in the media, funding and lawmaker meeting drives?

In my opinion by 'Using the unused EB2 visa for EB3 ROW instead of EB2 India', USCIS is following the law as congress pased it...The law may be not fair but that is a different issue...If you want to change the law you have to get that done from the congress...suing USCIS would get you nowhere....
People seem to think uscis/dos is doing it wrong and it should be going horizontal rather then vertical. However, since people just keep getting mad at it because they think dos is doing it wrong but are not willing to do something about it.
The main thing ac21 did differently then before enactment of ac21 was that it allowed unused visas from ROW to be used by other countries on a quarterly basis and not in the final quarter.
One of the frustrations is that dos/uscis was very lazy in approving cases and allowing 485 filings and weren't watching because they allowed too manyh people to file (as soon as there are more applicatoins then visa numbers they are supposed to establish cut off dates). They had more applications then what they can approve long before they actually established cut off dates (January 2005). However, people got spoiled. Now they are going back and being very careful about it. This situation should have presented itself much before it actually did.

Those of you who dont believe IV is not spending the money collected judiciously, I completely understand your concern. please attend one event and you see for yourself and then decide if you want to continue the donations. After seeing the usage of resources and efforts IV is putting i am sure you will be convinced . For ex; for this Event IV had to book Hyatt hotel conference room for 3 days in washington DC for co-ordinating and training the members who are meeting the lawmakers.Everything is expensive in DC as you may have noticed.
We are all professionals in IV. We dont want to make a living out of deceiving people. we all have our day jobs . we are trying to achieve a common goal which will benifit a lot of people on this forum and those who are not in this forum also .
you may be wondering why i am suddenly becoming more active and writing so many posts. you are right i had never written so many posts before and I am not one of teh core IV as well. After attending the event i realized how many other competing groups are aiming for the same pie ie. green cards for various categories through lobbying efforts on the hill. if we dont rise up and fight for our piece of the pie, other groups will eat our piece and leave the emply box for us .
Again do actively participate and give it a try you will be satisfied with the outcome.

what makes you state with confidance that the preadjudicated cases will be evaluated. can you please explain the basis of your statement. both my case and my wife's case has been pre-adjudicated and i am waiting for my green card. so do you think we should expect our green card some time next month without any additional followup. i would hate to see my case being sidetracked when some one else with pd and rd much beyond mine is serviced. any thoughts and insights. not trying to offend anyone. just trying to get some information.

Yes...The orgnization is about increasing the total pie and the overflow to India/china happens only after the ROW needs are complete...So your interests are taken care of...

Our Goal for this event was $50000 and so far we did not even raise 20k. We are approximately 60% under target. We won't be able to have another event like this if we go down this path. The last thing we want to happen is our efforts to stall due to lack of dollars. it would undo everything we have done in the past 4.5 years

my uncle is the citizen of US and he applied for the green card for my mother so my father an me also can follow her and our case has been approved and we are waiting for interview appointment. the problem is that my surname in my passport has written different from my father, i mean his surname is ABCDEF and mine is ABC DEF,there is one space between my surname but in my birth certificate it is correct. i want to know will it make any problem for us then?

I was there for the three days (though I was very late on Sunday). This was an exciting experience for me. I was involved in 10 meetings with the lawmaker's offices on Monday & Tuesday.

from all your invalid and illogical posts, I fail to understand your real motive. Do you want us get divided and fight among ourselves? Hope not! With my limited understanding, what I realized in last 2 years is this: VISA RECAPTURE and RETROGRESSION aka discrimination based on country of birth are the biggest obstacles for those born in countries like India, china, Philippines and Mexico. (Do you want to say that it is okay to be descriminated for being born in one of those countries?) So it does make sense to address these 2 issues. If I have limited energy (read money & support for lobbying, campaign etc), I would spend it towards where it can benefit me most.
What I am saying is just do not look into the issues that affects only you. Just be open minded. Show some sympathy to them. They were really affected. You do not have to fight all battles. you called that person Jealous which I did not like. if You do not like just ignore the post but do not call the names.
