An Indian has glorified Indians. How do you use this glorification to explain the behavior of 80+% IV Indian members and 60+% Indians in EB retrogression who have no interest in joining IV?
The best looking answer looks like there is no correlation between the two. Indians remain glorified.

While it is totally understandable that everyone get angry when rubbed in the wrong way - we must all remember that we are immigrants in this country and the country is currently driven by perception about job loses, terror plots, security threats etc..
In discussion forums or free speech forums, be very very careful - it is easy to trigger anger and get into heated discussions.
Please tone down the rhetoric and also tell your friends also.

It is major contributing factor to Eb2 and eventually EB3 retrogression. And something needs to be done to make sure that so called project managers from these IT firms from India are not able to apply in this category.
I am not sure if EB1 India cap of 3000 visas has been met already. If it was met, then they would have set a priority date for EB1 India too. Assuming that it is not being met, these project managers along with their spouses should be taking only a very small number and that shouldn't contribute much to EB2-3 retrogression numbers. So our real problem is lack of numbers for EB2 and EB3.

Just like the jews, tamils practice their culture and language in sri lanka without been discriminated. You don't see Jews armed with weapons asking for part of USA for themselves.
Your Justification makes no sense.............Jews and America is different. but SL.Tamils in SriLanka are like Jews and Hitler.
There is no independent media allowed to the war zone. That tells the truth is hidden.
So you might rise your voice and bring any comparisons/theory. but still you need hard-core independent media report to convince the world.

You are contradicting yourself in your arguments. One one side you say you are highly skilled on the other you say you are worried about depressing wages for citizens like YOU. If you were so competitive, why would you worry about competition.
If farmer grassley's bill passes through, you are the one who is going to lose your job (if you are still working at MSFT). Balmer has already threatened to move the jobs out of the country if Mr Change goes along with his protectionist policy.
http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/showpost.php?p=345899&postcount=1
BTW none of us on this forum favors outsourcing. Whether you like it or not, nobody can prevent outsourcing. Even if corn farmer's bill survives, outsourcing will go on. If you are looking for job security, you need to change what you do for living. This applies to all of us on this forum as well.
Could the unions stop the shifting of manufacturing jobs to China. You are living in the capitalist capital of the world. Don't think companies will help you cling to your job just because you want them to.
BTW you claim only 20% of H1Bs are genuine. How did you arrive at this figure. Have you interviewed each and every candidate who received H1Bs ?
You seem to be echoing anti-immigrant's concerns. Antis also complain that MSFT product quality has been going down since they started hiring H1Bs. I guess they were complaining about people like you.
guys / friends / fellow members ..LET US NOT LOSE FOCUS !!!
why are we debating the past ..we cannot change anything .. these things (misuse, fraud etc) are part of life and it happens everywhere ...it is not in our hands ..hopefully these guys who do fraud will suffer in some other way (for e.g ..many bought homes at higher prices etc).
let us focus on some sort of campaigns instead of debating (mr dilip in this case) ..believe me ..he will keep on debating and wasting our time

If we increase the number of links from other web-sites, blogs etc to immigrationvoice.com, then immigrationvoice should show up earlier.
If you google retrogression, IV doesn't show up until page 2.
Is there anyway we can change this? So that IV is the first link that shows up? Anyway know about this.

If this thread (forum) was a court room. It would have been declared by Judge that YSR is indeed the most corrupt politician AP had and pending further investigation all the occupied & grabbed lands, wealth be ordered to pay to the victims. In addition, the Judge would put a life time ban his Son from active politics.
I hope all posters, readers will condemn corruption and blood politics and see US system (for we being in US) as an example for India. No one can better understand American system than us and how it can be modulated to fit into India.

I don't think so. 7% limit has been there for a very long time. Unused visas from prior years for ac21 purposes were still subject to 7% in current year. The 7% rule was unchanged.
It seems that you think that the unused visas from prior year were not subject to 7%. There is nothing of the sort that allows this.
I am not saying 7% is not applicable for recaptured numbers. EB3-ROW was current while EB3-IN,Ch retrogressed in 2005.
Again 7% is not a quota or minimum or maximum. It is a guiding tool to avoid monopoly (not to prevent) for fist two months in a quarter and gave the remaining number to third month. It is not meant for reservation.
As you said Bangaldeshies can not raise flag they as have not consumed 7% quota. Therefore one can not argue that Bangladesh-EB3 should be "current".
At the end, first-come first served should prevails.

btw, I got this propaganda from the ruling party from back in British Columbia:
Large Surplus Builds Hospitals, Schools and Roads
July 11, 2007
B.C.'s Fiscal Year End Highlights:
Record budget surplus of $4.1 billion at fiscal year end allows for investments across B.C.
* Record $3.4 billion invested in building and upgrading schools, universities, colleges, hospitals, roads and bridges to improve services and meet the needs of a growing economy.
* $1 billion allocated to reducing B.C.'s total debt.
* B.C.'s economic growth, at 3.6% of real GDP, was second-highest in Canada and above the national average of 2.7%.
* Business investment grew by 9.5% and consumer spending, which accounts for about two-thirds of all economic activity in the province, grew by 5.3% in 2006.
* Third consecutive year B.C.'s Public Accounts received a clean audit opinion from the Office of the Auditor General.
*
VICTORIA The BC Liberal government finished its fiscal year with a significant surplus, which helped fund a record investment in public infrastructure and lowered British Columbias debt, Finance Minister Carole Taylor announced with the release of the 2006/07 Public Accounts.
The audited financial statements show the Province of British Columbia ended the fiscal year with a surplus of $4.1 billion. The surplus, along with a drawdown of cash balances, allowed the Province to reduce debt by $1 billion and finance a record $3.4 billion investment in building and upgrading schools, universities, colleges, hospitals, roads and bridges to improve services and meet the needs of a growing economy.
A big surplus means a big investment in our future, said Taylor. We are building health care facilities to meet the needs of an aging population, we are upgrading transportation networks to keep our economy moving, and we are expanding post-secondary spaces for our youth. Our surplus allows us to do this and still reduce B.C.s debt.
Taxpayer-supported capital spending increased to $3.4 billion in 2006/07, up $265 million compared to $3.1 billion in 2005/06. Over the past three years, the Province has delivered $8.8 billion in taxpayer-supported capital spending while simultaneously reducing debt.
In 2006, the budget planned for debt to grow by $1.7 billion to help finance public building projects, said Taylor. Fortunately, we were able to use the larger-than-forecast surplus to both pay for these projects and pay down debt by $1 billion. Building our province and reducing debt are investments that will generate benefits for years to come.
This is the third consecutive year the Public Accounts received a clean audit opinion from the Office of the Auditor General. The Public Accounts meet the standards of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and fully consolidate information from school districts, universities, colleges and health authorities (SUCH sector) in the provinces reporting systems.
In addition to the Public Accounts, the Province also released its Ministerial Accountability Report, government's annual strategic plan report, and annual service plan reports for ministries and government agencies. The Ministerial Accountability Report details the fiscal and other accountability targets ministers have achieved. Service plan reports summarize the progress of individual ministries and agencies, as well as the government as a whole, in meeting the performance targets laid out at the beginning of each fiscal year.

I am not a Tamil or Singalese. We cannot say Tamils went to Lanka and asking for homeland. The truth is both Tamils and Singalese migrated from India. May be Tamils went to Lanka before the Singalese. LTTE is a terrorist organization, but it gained popularity because of Singalese neglect of Tamils. I don't think the problem can be resolve through military means. The war will change from conventional to gorrilla within this year.
Only political solution can bring peace.

We are???? I am not expecting a C against all categories ever again! If anything can move the dates significantly, it is things like recapturing of unused visa numbers. Oh BTW, did you send your letter?
I am not saying "C" nor am I saying "July 2007 VB". I am talking about "June 2007 VB". It is just a matter of time when we can see the VB back to June 2007 figure again.
I can assure you that I have done my part without telling anyone. I am a silent doer.

So are you saying that we could have possible retrogression effective from any day in July?
Thanks.
USCIS had approvals before dates moved. USCIS knows the numebr of such approvals.
These approvals are getting GC before approval of current applicants. If earlier approvals use up quotas, retrogression does not have to wait for current approvals.

As I said in the Mocanu thread:
Btw, apparently the law firm that argued the case for Mocanu and the others was: Orlow, Kaplan and Hohenstein (http://www.orlow.com/index.htm).
Wonder whether it is worth initiating a conversation about the validity of the legal argument for recapture (Mocanu + Aytes memo + Galvez-Howerton) with them -- they certainly know enough about the details of the name check process; they might need some more details about the 2003-2004 lost EB greencards, but I'd say they are pretty well prepped for all the other details.
It would be beyond good for the case if we had some EB applicants who filed their 485s in 2003-2004 and are still waiting.

It looks like my post which was meant to bring some awareness to the innocent civilians being killed in SL has lost its purpose. Here are some clarification which will respond to atleast some posts:
1) There is no support for LTTE, not by Indian govt, not by USA, UN or any other country and neither by me
2) Post is not to gather support for LTTE, post is to gather support for INNOCENT CIVILIANS being killed. Now both sides killed civilians, recent report by UN (third party which is neutral - if neutral or UN still carries any value) shows SL army bombing the civilian safe-zone which is an outrage.
3) SL tamils are not Indian citizens. If we get US citizenship do you think anyone in USA will treat you as american, you are Indian American. My reference to Indians in SL is the same, thought you guys are smart enough to understand that.
4) Our Indian government with all its might..should not keep quiet and let the ethnic cleansing happen..kill all the LTTE no one cares..but killing all tamilians or most of them to keep others quiet is outageous. Bringing out this atrocity is the point of my post.
And guys..I am not a tamilian..I am an Indian..if this happens to any other group in India I will stand up and shout with the same ferocity with which I posted this. Standing up for good cause and protecting human values anywhere in the world need not require us belonging to a particular community. Being human is enough!
Show some understanding to the suffering and above all...stay in peace

I would have loved to go, but things are keeping me busy for the next two weeks. If this is still not taken up, I might go alone and check this out and follow it up. If someone reading this is interested, can you try it out as well and let us know. Maybe we should consult multiple lawyers to make sure that we do or do not have a case.
