my 485 was filed during Aug 2007 , i had EAD as well that i never used.(EB3)
i joined another firm and started off fresh using old PD, and EB2, which got ported
I had 2 RFE on my prior 485 FOR medicals and EVL. that i answered ( company didnt had issues as long as i was paying for it)
now How do i get my prior 485 to be merged, since its not an easy case, my new firm isnt willing to do so, can i raise SR/IO and try it? is it worth it

Got an email from USCIS stating that there is an change in status... This email showed new status as Card Prodn Ordered...
This was early evening 22'nd Oct.... Got two emails - one for me and one for my wife... exactly identical email.
Then later at night (closer to midnite NSC time i think), i received the same two emails for me and my wife again.... not sure why.
Since then no other emails.... So far, i have only recvd CPO email.... no other emails at all...
Donot worry about 2 emails. That normally happens for alomost any approval email from USCIS. I always got 2 emails from USCIS in approval of my every case like h1b ext, 485 etc..
You may not receive any more email from USCIS about your 485. But USCIS will send 485 approval courtesy copies to you and originals to your attorney. So please contact your attorney after 3 or 4 business days and collect your original i485 apporvals. You will receive your green cards with in 1 week. I received CPO mail on oct 17th and received green cards on oct 24th.
Please let me know if you need any more info.

* The news of potential revision of the July Visa Bulletin is understandably taken very hard by everyone including this reporter. After spending sleepless evenings and weekends, this reporter feels like being hit by lightening rod from sky. But people should keep their emotion under control for a number of reasons: First, the AILA reports that they are working hard to stop the State Department from doing this. No one knows how much it will work, but no one knows whether they will change their mind either. Just calm down. Secondly, even if it is released, we have no idea which categories and how much there will be a retrogression. Some categories may turn out to be not too bad. We will just have to wait and see. Thirdly, the AILF is seeking a legal remedy should this rumor indeed materialize. This lawsuit threat may or may not affect the State Department one way or another. We are all educated people and should have received a proper training to maintain a decent composure and not to lose morality and reveal weakness of the personality. Losing one or two days will not induce the sky failling down. Availability of July 485 filing is at this juncture depends on two factors: One is whether the July Bulletin will indeed be revised and the numbers will be retrogressed. The other is whether the USCIS and the visa posts around the world will be able to adjudicate all the backlog I-485 or immigrant visa applications in a very short period of time. Until the Visa Bulletin revision news popped up, the only factor that would control the issue of how soon one should send in their I-485 applications was the speed of USCIS backlog 485 application adjudications during the next two weeks or beyond. I have got email from my lawyer too regarding the change in bulletin coming MONDAY. I am worried for my life again. Is this all worth it? Title of her mail is I-485 could be rejected in July. I am done with this damn life. I can't take it anymore.
I really feel like crying now. Sitting on h-4 for 4 years and now I see a ray of hope and that is squashed too. I don't think this is fair. This is just not fair. Why the hell in the first place they have to make it current? I feel bad for all of us.
How many hours, how much money, how much effort, feelings, aspirations, hope. so much was built on that one news and the days from then on. and today it is NOTHING. I am sick and tired of this life.

Just my 2 cents... Don't think USA is like India where you can do something forcefully. Why don't you guys understand the real problem of USCIS.
Do you think that by sending flower to USCIS will force them to make EB2/EB3 current for 2005/2006/2007 guys??

You definitely sound like my mother , who gets scared by the news that gets published in telugu news papers about gas station shootings in USA. Otherday she asked me not to goto "that gas station in Kentucky" .. I live in CA.
There is no shame in protesting injustice. Nobody who sent flowers is foolish enough to think that they will get their GC just because they sent flowers.

My priority date is current since september 2010.
My H1B transfer application is with USCIS since Aug 27th, 2010. The date for transfer requested is Novemebr 1st, 2010.
My I 485 was filed in Aug 2008. I have been working with the current sponsoring employer since 2005, no breaks.
I am expecting an RFE for my I 485. Anyone who was in similar situation share what kind of RFE is likely to be issued? I already have a job letter from the new employer essentially stating same kind of work duties.

Congrats ski_dude12. My personal opinion is that this may have delayed your greencard since July. Sometimes people get too anxious once their date is current and want to try everything that is possible to get approval. There is so much information and misinformation on forums.

It really is amazing how much hot air has been generated on this thread over a well established transit visa requirement.
The list of nationals that are required to have a visa to transit the UK represents a list of countries where there has been a particular problem with over stayers. It is not race based, but merely an effort to target the problem.
Do you seriously think the people from all the countries listed overstayed ?
It really does not matter what anyone thinks about the transit visa requirement because it is UK law. Everyone has a choice whether or not to transit the UK. Going back to the original post, to book a ticket without researching visa requirements and then trying to deflect personal responsibility by blaming the visa requirement is ridiculous.
The whole point of the thread is to discuss how people are treated there and merits or otherwise in choosing this place as a transit point.
Do you see any one demanding or representing your queen to abolish this TV requirement ? If you had followed the thread most people are suggesting to avoid this place rather than to fight them. Don't you get that point ?
How is charging different amounts for the same kind of visa and refusing to correct the mistake OP's personal responsibility ?

after filing for I-485 on Jun 1. Also filing for EAD for self and 3 family members. EB3 Nov 2001. H1B stamped in visa valid till Oct 2008.
Do I need to wait for Receipt of Filing?

So for EB-3 we have 1630 from 01, and 8300 from 02 and 12500 from 03..how long would this take to clear given EB 3 allotment??. every year??.
With horizontal spillover, things don't look good for EB3-I in 2009-2010.
However, 2010-2011 things should be great for EB3-I, as EB2-I & C would be pretty close to current (or) current.
