in my opinion:
485
325A
sealed medical cover
his passport copies - all pages
his/her birth certificate
your receipt
photos
check
employers letter, again
( am I missing anything)
Why do we need 325A?- i thought this was for people in illegal status. Our son entered the US on valid H4 visa. Also do we need to request in application to attach the file to mother or anything like that. I will give the USCIS a call and share that information here if I find anything more.
thanks

my 485 was filed during Aug 2007 , i had EAD as well that i never used.(EB3)
i joined another firm and started off fresh using old PD, and EB2, which got ported
I had 2 RFE on my prior 485 FOR medicals and EVL. that i answered ( company didnt had issues as long as i was paying for it)
now How do i get my prior 485 to be merged, since its not an easy case, my new firm isnt willing to do so, can i raise SR/IO and try it? is it worth it
Have you asked your lawyer? Check with your lawyer first as you say it is a little complicated. You don't want to mess up this late in the process.....

Congratulations SOP for your wife's GC approval !!! I'm sorry to hear she was ill... Hope she is feeling better now. I have a couple of quick questions, did she give her biometrics before tha approval like the IO mentioned or did she get the straight approval...Also did she have any loft LUD's. Curious because I'm in the same boat and had a soft LUD on 9/24/2009 and no update on status though...still shows as initial review.

There have been members on forums trying to find answers to common questions. Here are some answers and tips from Susan Henner
http://www.susanhenner.com/firmprofile.jsp
====================================
Question: multiple filing of I485 if both husband and wife have I140 approved.
As far as I know a person can and should only file 1 adjustment of
status
application. You can not be a double adjustment applicant! So choose
the
one with the 'more current' or older priority date as we expect some
retrogression in up-coming months. This may go by the numbers and
dates.
So you want to use the oldest date possible.
If a person uses one of his I-140s and the adjustment is for some
reason
denied, it appears that there is no reason why they can not then
re-apply
for adjustment using the other approved I-140 providing all the
requirements
are met under the petition.
My other advice concerns the fact that the filing fees are increasing
on
July 30th. This means every case should be filed by July 29th to avoid
any
increase. This really only gives people between July 1 and July 29 to
file
cases. So it will be a big rush.
I also recommend scheduling physician appointments ASAP. I am told
that
many INS physicians are extremely backlogged due to the visa
availability
now.
=========================
If you have other answers from lawyers, you can post them. Make sure to post the lawyer's name. Do not post your opinion. Post legal advice given to you by your lawyer, with the lawyer's name. This will help members get accurate advice and not opinions.

We have sent 2 magicjack's to India, one at my parents and one at in-laws....they need to have a computer and high speed internet access there. For the first yr it is costing us $40 per yr each and starting 2nd year it will cost us $20 per yr each. They call us all the time now and calls are crystal clear and you can't beat $40/year price.

You can put any clauses in the contract as long as they are legal and the renter accepts it. But as 'albertpinto' said, beware of the people with bad credit and bankruptcy or people going through divorces - you may not want to rent them your property as it is very difficult to remove somebody (yes, even from your own house); it can take anywhere between 3 to 6 months and in the meantime, you are still liable to pay the mortgage if your renter defaults.
IMO, Only rent to people with good credit history.
Cant we put all these conditions in the contract? No modification to the house..only one family allowed..unless you want to rent it to bachelors and then charge whatever amount from each person and limit their number in the house..
Contracting agencies do not assure if they will put the house on rent. they say they will find someone.. and how long it takes, they are not sure..

trying to understand your problem?
the goal (and you may have to chew on this a while) of this campaign is not to bend rules. it is to create media attention for our problems.
this may be a catalyst to anything- 485 filing, bridging amendments...who knows?
the point is we have to keep trying. sounds like you want to slink away into your "reality". well, since we are all living in fantasy, friend, please let us enjoy it. thanks for your encouragement btw.

USCIS is not prepared for anything. if this works then great. if not i tried didn't work out.... :)
I fully agree that USCIS should work FIFO, but "should" does not make that happen. Clearly USCIS is not equipped for FIFI when truck loads of applications arrive. We may complain now, but I believe we should give them additional 10 days they need (to make it 90 days). I am equally worried about my July 2 filing. Nevertheless, I wish and hope the congressman's intervention helps.

Hello every one,
I am starting this thread for all of us not to just think about the GC process. If any one is residing here for 10 years without GC, think about making a law which can lead us to Citizenship. My thoughts on this:
Many of our colleagues who landed with us during the late 90s (1998, 1999) and early 2000, who got their GC without any issues are now Citizens or waiting to become Citizen soon.
What is our status?. Just think. Still we are strugling to get the GC. Even by law change, if we are getting the GC this year (by GOD's Grace), then we need to wait for another 5 years from now (approximately 2014). Many persons like me who have come to this Country in their later career will be very much affected due to this delay (we have lot of other issues like the dependents reaching the age of 21 etc., College, University fees etc.,).
Core team and every one, please consider this and try to lobby for getting the citizenship without further wait if the persons satisfy the folowing conditions:
1. If they are legally here for 10 years (With approved I-140 and waiting for Adjustment of Status without current date).
2. If they have earned full 40 points in Social Security
3. If they have paid the tax continuously for 10 years
4. If they own a house and paying Mortgage (adding weightage to the Economy boost)
and
5. If they do not have any criminal records in these 10 years.
Please again do not just concentrate on the GC issues. Consider this and if any one can come with a letter draft with legal openion, we can send it to all Congress members, State Governers etc.,
Hope the members and the Core team consider this issue. I have one more thread on this, which I started some months back but the response was not that good. If every one of us unite on this and raise this to the Congress, I think the new Government may consider as this is very genuine.
Hi,
I would take off the point 4 related to owning the house as most of us are unable to do it just as greencard isnt in hand. I know how one can feel the pain of even owning the house without a GC, but trust me, there are very very few who would have bought a house with GC pending.,.
I STRONGLY support Citizenship for anyone for 10 years in the US or waiting for 5 years after applying for GC. I have also voiced the same thing even before. Citizenship is what we need to request after this much wait,

For the nth time.. numbers are reduced only after approval and not based on receipt of application. So if you can submit it on July 2nd you submit it on 3rd and so on.
485 Approvals are coming in thousands every day ( as per the increasing activity on pending 485s)...and DOS can any day suspend if they think numbers are over ..so if you are lucky on 2nd you are in and so on ..remember GCs are not only approved in US only it been happening at all the visa posts all the world

My lawyer said u cannot have 2 485 petitions with USCIS.
My Lawyer's response - You should be aware that you cannot file two I-485 applications. If you file individually, there is no option to file as a dependent UNLESS the pending I-485 is withdrawn.
Awaiting reponse from my wifes lawyer.
ask the lawyer about specific issues that can happen if multiple filing is done.

Senate Approves Levin Amendment to Improve Oversight of FBI Background Checks
WASHINGTON The Senate has approved an amendment by Sen. Carl Levin, D-Mich., to improve oversight of the FBI National Name Check Program, which faces a substantial backlog. The program is used to run background checks on people applying for immigration benefits or seeking employment with the U.S. government, among many other purposes. Levins provision, which was included as an amendment to the Commerce, Justice, and Science (CJS) Fiscal Year 2008 Appropriations Bill, would require the FBI to report to Congress every year regarding progress made in improving the FBIs system of processing background checks and automating investigative files.
The background check programs enormous backlog poses an unacceptable burden on people whose lives are on hold, and it also leads to a national security risk, Levin said. Approximately 31,000 cases have been pending for at least 33 months. If these individuals are a security threat, we must know that sooner rather than later.
According to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) Ombudsmans 2007 Annual Report, there were 329,160 name check cases pending in May 2007, which is and increase of 93,358 over the previous year. Many immigrants who are applying for adjustment of status to legal permanent resident, naturalization, asylum, or a waiver end up waiting for months or years for the completion of the name check process.
In 2003, Robert J. Garrity, Jr., then Acting Assistant Director of the Records Management Division of the FBI stated before the House Committee on Government Reform that, [t]he name check delays have significant consequences to FBI customers and stakeholders. The delays impede hiring or clearing skilled workers; completing government contracts; student enrollment, andclearing requested visas for business visits to the United States. More importantly than all of the foregoing, these processing delays can also diminish counterterrorism effectiveness.
