Thanks a lot to all members for being with us in this struggle. We have tasted our first big success this year. Credit goes to each and every IV member. We were all affected by the visa bulletin fiasco and this is our victory. This is a victory for all our members and we must rejoice.
IV had worked very hard and had been pushing for this in the background. Our flower campaign, rally and other advocacy efforts all came together and helped us at a crunch time. We thank members that sent flowers and also walked in the San Jose heat for 4 hours. All that really shows our commitment to this cause.
We are happy that our efforts are successful and IV has been able to make a difference. Please also know that during this effort, IV was extremely active and decision makers heard our voice. We cannot give out all the details but what IV members should know is that these efforts should make each one of us proud and what we can do if we have a firm resolve. We were also the first to break this news even before anyone else or media could, and continued to update our members as time passed.
IV also thanks its contributing members and it is because of their contributions we were able to continue this effort. Many thanks to the members that are contributing now after this good news.

First of all, child abusers must not go unpunished.
You are at fault for knowingly hiring an undocumented worker, and you must face the consequences.
If you fail to report this abuse to the authorities, then you must be prepared to face more problems at a later time.
If not you, somebody else will take this matter to the cops, and that person could even be me. Sorry!!!
My advice to you is to talk to an Attorney ASAP, and take this matter to the law enforcement.

I have canceled 8/24 appointment and plan on taking appointment during first week of September. Los Angeles USCIS have plenty slot available, so taking it easy in taking appointment.

Hi ruchigup: Could you please update on how your infopass appt went on moday. My attorney said that we could take infopass even now, they(IOs) might keep our case in the queue ready for review for GC in September. But, not quite sure if they (IOs) would really do something abt it in August.

Disgusting, Sheriff Joe is monster. Perhaps he came from family with no respect for women.
On the lighter note, if I were a judge, here's what I would do with Sheriff Joe if he was trailed:
1. Perform sex change operation on Sheriff Joe and install a womb.
2. Perform artificial insemination on Sheriff Joe using the seed of big man like Undertaker, Shaq or Khali (so that offspring is a big baby).
3. On term, shackles Sheriff Joe and make him go through the pain of giving birth. In the process don't administer epidural or perform C-Section.
4. Don't repair any damage done to his body parts after delivery.

I don't realize why should anyone blame cableching...??
It seems to me that he just shared the information that he got and the way he understood. Would anyone else have done it any differently?
I dont think it really matters whether they have used up all visas now vs at the end of sept. Because, there were "X" number of visas to be given out and so "X" number of applicants would be chosen randomly (USCIS Lottery style..:p) and that happend...
If at all, this is a good news, that they actually finished this lottery process and so nothing will go to waste...(It would be too bad if california Lotto comes out with a winner number ticket that does not belong to anyone!!!)
And, we will never know whether this news is true or it is a misunderstanding on the part of cableching or the IO lady. (I personally dont think either of them are lying...but it could be a misunderstanding, especially with regard to category EB3 vs EB2). Regardless whether it is ture or a misunderstanding, we will see approvals coming through over next several months. (Just like what happened in June 07). I have a similar problem. In all my documents i just have one name as given name from childhood no surname or initials.
In passport given name is : XXX
And surname is : blank
In my H4 stamping they made it
Given name : FNU (First name unknow)
Last Name : XXX
So in my medical record and I-94, I-797 in US i use FNU XXX. I am planning to apply with this name itself as i feel it may take a while and is not safe to go to indain embassy and have a name change with this short time.
I plan to have my husbands name as my last name later.
Can i do it after filing for 485 or getting GC. Do reply.

Recapture is the least offensive. Most politicians seem to support it, it is acceptable to ROWs and it will also resolve most of the backlog. Why dont we have a one point agenda for the short term and focus our energies on something that is has a chance of passing. Every other issue opens a can of worms. I am not trying to divert the focus of this thread, i do agree that lawsuits help focus attention on the issue because USCIS has to respond to the case and spend resources fighting it (as was the case with the name check issue).
i dont want to get into a discussion of my EB is better than yours. My company had a Phd from Florida who got a green card on EB3, we are all MS from US (which according to me means little) and all were filed in EB3 because the lawyers convinced the company it was the easiest way to go.
PS. One more thing 90% of the posters who say, go ahead we are with you will dissapear the moment your PD becomes current, if you dont believe me wait and see what most the pre 2005 EB2 filers post in the forums after the new VB is out.

I know someone who got theirs on Tuesday, and got their case approved today. This was Fy2008 Masters, Premium processing
I also applied for Masters Quota, but didnt do premium processing and haven't received the Receipt notice

Which center you case went to? Mine went to California service center ( CSC).
Hope for best!!!
My lawyer and company headquarters are in CA. However, I am going to be working in a different branch. So, I am guessing that most likely my application is in CSC, since I do not have a formal notification from my lawyer as to where he sent it.

This is going to be a historic event and why don't you take our side and be part of history instead of being an anti-immigrant cry baby.

This time USCIS is hiding by not making official announcements.
We need to act as we did last July.

I have given my phone number several times, even you can have it ( 412 915 9526 ) but the admin is not willing to call me. I believe GCStatus has sent his phone number too. I have been a member here since July 2007, based on the GCStatus credentials, he has created his ID just a month or so. Why would I all of a sudden fake my ID when I have such a good reputation in this site. You can visit all my posts.
I hope you got convinced. If yes, please talk to our super Admin.
