We have just been told by reliable sources that the bill is being sent back to the Senate Judiciary committee where Frist and Specter will rework the language of the bill, starting April 24th.
All reasonable amendments will be worked into the bill text itself. Our amendments have a lot of support and the intent is to include them into the text of the bill.
So we need contributions going forward to get our requirements into the base text, and to protect them in conference with the House.

Go to their website and look for consitutent services. Utilize their services ONLY if your's is a genuine problem and follow their instructions - write clearly what your problem is and what kind of help you are expecting. Spome of them are very helpful - they stay on top of the case till they get you a written decision

Don't worry about what feedback people gave you. People are jealous of you. Understandbly so, because of dates going back all the time. Firstly, its a movie. Secondly even if its true, what's there to be afraid of??? If you talk on the phone about legal course of action to lobby, why would you be afraid of.

They have the chutzpah of going to lawmaker's offices in DC and say "I am an illegal...I broke the laws and overstayed my visa...please change to law to make everything ok again for me please...". And our community thinks that someone is listening to their phone conversation about how to raise money and lobby for the legal immigrants?????

It is sad to say the thread started by one of the senior member on similar lines was closed abruptly for discussion.I know IV's main intension is to help on immigration front but it won't be too different to help other immigrant brothers trapped in situations like this.

That is India time....
If you transfer less than 1000 USD to outside SBI, they will charge 25 rupees, the only problem is that they will not specify that charges any where in the transaction.....but it will be accurate all the time....
Just a correction SBI charges Rs. 25 for every transaction whether < 1000 or more.
Service charge of Rs.25/- (inclusive of Service Tax @ 12.36%) will be levied on every transaction where foreign currency conversion is carried out w.e.f. 16 May 2008.

What works for someone may not work for us. VXG and others were lucky we are not as simple as that which does not mean that we left any stone unturned...it just doesn't work that way.....but again will keep on trying...
has anybody tried calling USCIS as the proxy applicant..I mean has anyone as a primary called USCIS for their dependent....the reason I am asking is I need to do that....I am sure there is no "sex" in the file and there is no way for them knowing that I am the primary applicant or not.

Sure i can and i did $200. More follows at the first sight of some hope after the recess. Nonetheless, Core Team please keep up the rock solid motivation and spirit to get us through this ordeal
For the record, this is my 9th yr in US and about to file for my 4th EAD. With July 02 PD in EB3 .. not sure what and when to expect. You bet i am from retrogressed country.
I can only hope this team do not loose their spirit with any setbacks.
